Zero Guesswork. Peak Control.

Our foil setup is designed to make foiling smoother, faster, and easier to tune, no matter your level or the conditions. The deliberately incremental steps of our Shim System are the core part of this setup.

Efficiency. Compatibility.

A fully integrated setup, engineered to function as one unified structure, maximizing glide, stability, and responsiveness. Quality of components resulting in augmented efficiency. The Mast to Fuselage to Wings interface is fully compatible between all our foil components.

Rigidity. Unity.

Eliminates unwanted twist and flex, for uncompromised power transfer and consistent performance. Designed for fast, hassle‑free setup and breakdown, so you can spend more time riding and less time rigging.

Tuning. Balance.

Enables fast, precise adjustments to match different rider styles, and conditions. Dial it in effortlessly. Delivers confident, predictable control in every condition from high‑speed runs to choppy, turbulent water.

One. Two. Three.

The KT Foiling Shim System is literally a three step process. Easy. 1. Take the Mast value. 2. Take the Front Wing value. 3. The sum of those two numbers is your Back Wing Shim Value. Done.

Fine Tuning.

Starting Point.

Neutral Lift.

Combining the Mast Value and the Front Wing Value yields the Neutral Lift Shim Value, the ideal Starting Point for most riders.

As you gain experience, the KT Foiling Shim System allows you to start fine tuning Back Wing Shim Values, to refine the setup, whether you need more lift or less lift. This may involve more positive or more negative shim settings, to maximize the usable range of your front foil across different conditions.

Positive (+) calculation result: Use White Shim with (+) angle.
Negative (-) calculation result: Use Black Shim with (-) angle.

Neutral Lift.

Positive Increments.

More Lift from Starting Point.

We recommend to begin with + 0.5 degree increments for:

More Stability
Easier Take-Off
Faster Turning
Accentuated Front Foot Pressure
Suitable for heavier riders
Increased Drag

Suitable for smaller waves
Suitable for sedimented water

More Lift.

Negative Increments.

Less Lift from Starting Point.

We recommend to begin with – 0.5 degree increments for:

More Speed
More Glide
Less Drag
More Direct Response
Looser Feel
Reduced Stability

Suitable for larger waves
Suitable for clean water

Less Lift.
