Purpose of the Protection Pads

1. Deck and Tail Protection

They’re meant to be stuck onto the high points (raised or vulnerable areas) of the deck and tail of the board. These are typically spots that take the most impact when the board is being handled, laid down, or transported.

2. Impact Absorption

They help cushion impacts when the board is set down on hard surfaces, protecting both the board and the ground from dings, scratches, or pressure points.

3. Ground Contact Protection

When placing the board foil-down or tail-down, these pads help lift critical areas off the ground, minimizing wear and avoiding damage over time.

Where to Place Them

– On the tail or rail edges where the board often contacts the ground.
– On high spots of the deck where it might bump into things during transport or rigging.
– They’re especially helpful for carbon boards or those with lighter glassing, which are more susceptible to surface damage.
